For the last few years I’ve been part of an incredible women’s rights charity, FiLiA (formerly Feminism in London). I am now their art curator and have been working away at putting on our biggest art show yet, next weekend 14th & 15th October, as part of the annual FiLiA conference.

My recent explorations into textiles art, including One Dress are largely thanks to my involvement with FiLiArt.

This years show will be massive, with over 130 women artists showcasing work, an exhibition with paintings, photography, textiles mixed media and installations, curated rooms and performances.

The main exhibition will be open to the pubic both days of the event, with additional works available to view for conference ticket holders. Buy tickets here.

I hope to see you there!

Art for Art’s sake

It’s all go at the Atelier this month.

Wedding season is upon us and we are busy creating some beautiful gowns for our gorgeous brides.

Our favourite Ingenue, Eleanor Tomlinson, has been cast in the new BBC period drama Poldark, to celebrate we dressed her up in one of our best new British lace and peace silk couture numbers for the Empire Awards.

And we have launched our exciting new Art Competition. We are looking for amazing artists who have something to say about sustainability. It’s going to be be Judged by fabulous contemporary artist Mikey Georgeson and PETA’s Meg Matthews at a VIP reception on the 15th May. If you want to be at the soiree, make us some art and we might just invite you to rub shoulders with the great and the good of British art, couture, fashion and sustainability.

Read all about it here and like the #sustartcomp facebook page to be kept up to date.

Yours in artistic splendor
